Amanda became a follower of Jesus while on a youth mission trip with her church to Mexico in 2012. On the same trip, she received a calling into cross-cultural ministry, which she pursued for four years at Prairie College in Three Hills. At Prairie, she had many opportunities to travel and engage in cross-cultural ministry, and the place she fell in love with was the little, warm-hearted nation of Malawi in SE Africa. After graduating from Prairie, she returned to Malawi in 2019 and served there full time as a mission worker until 2025. She led Bible and theological studies, hosted conferences and seminars, taught crafts and skills, spent time diving into Malawian culture/language, and much more. She is passionate to see what God will do in Malawi, and excited for the opportunity to return there with SIM Canada.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 (NIV)
