Cait MacHutchon
Pastoral Member Care, People Care
Global
Cait grew up with a desire to serve overseas, and when she began regularly attending church at 18, that desire became intertwined with a growing passion for the gospel. After longing to visit Nepal for years, she had the opportunity to go in 2012 and quickly fell in love with its people. In 2015, she moved to Nepal, where she served among Tibetan Buddhist communities, including three years living in a remote region. After several years in Nepal, her ministry came to a conclusion and she relocated to Armenia, where she spent four years working with a training program and leading preparations for a nationwide conference.
Throughout her 11 years overseas, Cait’s passion for walking alongside those who are suffering and creating spaces for them to encounter God has remained a constant. This passion has led her into member care, where she serves with SIM and partners with other organizations to support missionaries through spiritual direction, debriefing, and retreats. Her heart is to help people slow down, process their stories, and find space to meet with God amid the joys and challenges of ministry.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:26-27 (NIV)
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:4 (NIV)
